Is there a product that can be added to freon to repair several minor leaks in a commericial A/C coil system. Replacing them is not a financial option right now. Thanks, Jim
Some repair people use a product called Super Seal ACR. It’s available on EBay and Amazon.com.http://www.amazon.com/Cliplight-947KIT-Super-Seal-Sealant/dp/B00159UWKI
Good luck and be careful. BE SURE. to take proper safety precautions when working on anything of this nature.
I have a side by side refridgerator and tonight the freezer section got warm, the compressor will kick o but only for a few seconds then goes off. Ive cleaned all the dust from the coils etc. Any idea what would cause this. yes the fridge section is too warm too, just not as dramatic. Its a 4-5 year old whirlpool
Clean coils – you did and it’s not that.
Make sure the lights go out when you close the doors.
Make sure there are not cracks and leaks in the gasket (door seal).
if it’s not that, it could be the fan that cools the compressor might not be working. It sounds like the compressor is coming on, but due to the fan not blowing, it’s not cooling down the compressor. Check the fan. If you find your model number, http://www.apwagner.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=2
Other issue: could be bad start relay and over load for the compressor. To check the compressor properly you should test it with an amp meter, each compressor is rated in running amps. Check the model/serial tag or sticker on the compressor.
Inspect the relays to see if you can find and broken or burnt, they need to be replaced – examples: http://www.applianceaid.com
